MGSU student team became the prizewinner of the XI International Engineering Championship "CASE-IN"

The XI International Engineering Championship "CASE-IN" for solving complex engineering cases for students and young scientists in the field of design and construction began on September 1, 2023.

Since 2019, the Championship has been included in the platform of the ANCO "Russia is a country of Opportunities", the supervisory board of which is headed by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and is implemented within the framework of a grant from the President of the Russian Federation for the development of civil society provided by the Presidential Grants Fund. In 2019, the Championship entered the TOP 15 Olympiads of the world according to the RAEX rating agency.

In 2023, the application for participation was submitted by young scientists of our branch of the Moscow State University of Civil Engineering, students of the 4th year (field of study - Industrial and Civil Engineering):

The scientific supervisor and mentor of the team is the associate professor of the Department of Industrial and Civil Engineering Natalia V. Kupchikova.

The engineering case task was to develop an investment and construction project for implementation in the tourism sector in 10 days, providing the possibility of scaling to the regions of the Russian Federation in the planning horizon to 2030. The MGSU team, together with the supervisor, in a short time developed a project called: "DEVELOPMENT OF A PLAN FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF AN INVESTMENT AND CONSTRUCTION PROJECT OF THE “ICY HEART” INDOOR SKI ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX USING DIGITALIZATION TOOLS AND SCALING TO THE REGIONS OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION."

On November 23, the students competed for participation in the finals in front of experts from the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation, the Federal Administration of RosStroyKontrol and the National Association of Builders of the Russian Federation.

The case assignment for solving complex problems in the field of design, construction and development included: development of the main stages of the implementation of an investment and construction project; indicators of project economic efficiency, calculation and risk management; project time and budget management plan; quality management systems.

The final took place in Moscow on December 15 at «Holiday Inn Mоscow Sokolniki». The team of MGSU branch was awarded a bronze medal and gifts from RosStroyKontrol, as well as +30 points for admission to the master's program at MGSU. The experts and the chairman noted the high level of development of professional competencies and “soft” skills of our students based on the case method as a system of practice-oriented training, leadership qualities and personal effectiveness.
